I am a teacher and I absolutely love my job. I actually feel very lucky that I am one of those people who get to do the thing they love, every day. Having said that, my job is not who I am. It's a big part of me I will admit, but I have many loves, one of them being, Travel.
I have loved travelling since I was child. We spent much of our school holidays on road trips across Australia. Some of these trips were the best times of my life. As soon as I could afford it, I made my first overseas trip after university. I lived and worked in Japan for a year and considered it my home. Since returning to my birthplace, Adelaide (It's that capital city in the bottom of Australia), I have jumped back into my 'normal' life, but still with a passion for travel (however local).
I also believe strongly that if you can't afford to go overseas or away to the country, explore where you are, in depth. See the local sights, visit the museums, walk around the local lake, visit the libraries. There are many things to see and we take them for granted when we walk past them daily, but I enjoy stopping and taking the time to explore them. Originally I started The List when I was living in Japan for the first time, listing all things I would do when I returned to my hometown of Adelaide, Australia. Now it is a list about those places often overlooked in my beautiful city. Everyone has those places in their town.
