T is for Tree

I was brave and put up a Christmas Tree despite knowing it would be a playground to my cat. This was the tree when it was first put up.

AND about 4 hours later...on the ground.

Moonta Bay

This place was absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for a great beach to swim at, this is the spot. The water is crystal clear. There is plenty of space to swim without seaweed, though there is plenty of this further out, which makes for a great fishing spot also. I am not usually the first to jump into the sea, but I seriously could not resist this place. It wasn't even particularly a hot day, but you will understand when you visit.

C for Coffee @ Caffe Florence

We found this gem of a cafe in Port Pirie, we actually drove back the hour drive a second time for a good cup of coffee.

This place was buzzing everytime we saw it. The service was excellent and the staff were really friendly. It is just a great place to drink and eat. I highly recommend it.

Visit the website.

Port Pirie Railway Museum

As you know I stayed at Port Broughton during the week. It's only about an hours drive to Port Pirie. The first stop was to the old railway museum. Entry was $4 and I really enjoyed it. It is only a small museum but there are loads of little artifacts from the past.

Fisherman's Bay

Fisherman's Bay is approximately 6kms from Port Broughton. We visited this place in search of somewhere to swim and the water here was absolutely beautiful. Where we were was full of activity with boats and fishing. It might not have been the best location for swimming but I think if you drove just a little further, you would be able to find the right place.

Port Broughton

Port Broughton is about a 2 hour drive from Adelaide, SA and is located at the top of Yorke Peninsula. It is well known for its fishing and so is a popular place for a quick getaway. There are a few take away shops, 2 hotels and a couple of restaurants. There is also an IGA and a Post Office, which is convenient.

R is for Roadkill

I know, you probably got a little scared when you read that title. No I did not take photos of roadkill on our journey. My friend and I did come across this book though when on holiday on Kangaroo Island. Just the impression we wanted to make on tourists! =)

The Bay Discovery Centre

Never before have I ever actually been into this building despite going to Glenelg for years. We had just intended to eat at Simply Sushi (best sushi place in Adelaide), when we stumbled upon this place.

A reminder of the fairs and carnivals held down at the beach.

Princess Cruises

I have just returned from a cruise around New Zealand. It was for 13 days and so there is a lot to catch up on. The Dawn Princess was this magnificent and beautiful ship. It has 15 decks and there was always something to do. There were places to eat on several of the decks including a sundae bar. Below are photos of the ship and some of the views that could be seen.
