Yorke Peninsula, SA, Australia

In our quest to take a photo of all the lighthouses in Australia, my friend J and I took an overnight trip to Yorke Peninsula.

Despite the many things that go wrong, we always manage to have a good time. My cat however did almost ruin the trip and I almost had to sleep in the camp kitchen, if J hadn't come to my rescue. My cat, Oscar, must have decided sometime between my last camping trip and this one, that my tent would be the perfect place for him to go to the toilet. When I took out my tent, the scent was, politely put, overwhelming. The zipper of the tent fly, felt like it had been welded shut. J, of course, being the ever so prepared one, had a spare tent, which she lent me. I did feel bad when her tent then looked like it was going to take off in what can only be described as a tornado (I could be exaggerating here but it was windy).

The Yorke Peninsula is a gorgeous place though. If you are in South Australia and have never been, you really need to get down there. It is a long drive from Adelaide to the bottom of the peninsula but I think it is well worth it.
