V is for Volcano

Mt Fuji was one of my favourite scenes from Japan. Anywhere we went we were on the lookout for this snow capped mountain. It didn't matter from what angle, this mountain never stopped being amazing when you were looking at it.

Mt Fuji seen from Miho Beach,

Mt Fuji seen from Shimizu Port. Unfortunately not the clearest day, but this is usually a great viewing spot.

Mt Fuji seen from Izu Peninsula

My Fuji seen from the balcony of a friend's apartment in Tokyo. Lucky man!

Looking Back at Japan: Kunozan Toshogu Shrine & Sumpu Dream Square

I have the mammoth task of sorting my hard drive of 10+ years of photos. The benefit of that is that I am finding photos I never knew I had and reliving all my favourite moments of Japan from 2006/2007.

Kunozan Toshogu Shrine and Sumpu Dream Square are found in Nihondaira, Shizuoka Prefecture. I was fortunate enough to have a beautiful Japanese friend Ai who would organise trips for us and this was one of the places we visited for the day. You can read about the shrine here.

U is for useless things

Found these in the store the other day. When is there ever really a need for these???

Okay, so I have been informed that they are sometimes used so children can not open a door, but my thinking is that a skilled child, could work it out :)

Kachoen Park, Kakegawa

Kachoen Park is a gorgeous bird park in Kakegawa, Shizuoka, Japan. I visited this place in February 2014 and only just noticed I hadn't blogged about it, clearly I have been slacker than I realised. I had a great time there and I went a little crazy with the photos. Enjoy. You can read more details about Kachoen Park here.

The Moustache

Apparently this craze was taking off back home at the time but had no idea. I saw moustaches everywhere and in all sorts of places. It became my 'thing' to take photos and err maybe I purchased a few of my finds.

Yasaka Shrine

We ended our long weekend trip by heading to Gion, Kyoto. Unfortunately for us, we didn't have a long time to spend here but we did see Yasaka Shrine. You can visit the website here.

More photos from my trip to Nara. It's a place worthwhile visiting.
