This year has been quite busy for holidays for me. The only way I have been able to afford these trips is because I have been bidding on holidays on www.travelauctions.com.au. They are available all around Australia and they vary in prices and types of venues. There are holidays for couples and families. I have been to Nuriootpa, Mildura and Mount Gambier.

Larry, The Big Lobster
I have just returned from a road trip to Mount Gambier, which is a town in the South East of South Australia. We drove through Kingston SE purely to see Larry the Big Lobster. Just like the lighthouses that I make my friends detour for, we sometimes drive a little out of the way to see the 'Big Things' on the way (See The Miner). This trip seemed like a great way to see the coast on the way to Mount Gambier, and I got to tick something else off my list.

Shine a Little Lighthouse Light On Me
My friend is an avid photographer. She takes loads of photos and recently she has focused her camera on birds. When I asked why, she said that she was trying to take a picture of every bird that was in a bird book she owned. At first I thought this was a little nutty, but since I love lists, the idea grew on me, not specifically the birds. I hadn't been able to think of anything I wanted to aim towards until we took a trip to Kangaroo Island. We were at Cape Willoughby and on the wall was this giant poster of Australia, with every single lighthouse in the country. I made a joke that perhaps this was my list of photos to take and it was taken more seriously than I thought.
We have just recently made a page on Facebook (as this was easier to combine our photos). You are welcome to join and you will find the link on the bar at the top of the screen. Please feel free to share your own photos of lighthouses to 'Wall', and they do not need to be limited to Australia, that's just our challenge. =)
